Vacation to Myrtle Beach 3/12/2012 Day #3

Dan was up early and I got up about 6:30 AM. We had our coffee and got ready to have breakfast. We did not make any plans for the day we just do what ever we decide at the last moment. We had a beautiful sunrise this morning. No dolphins. Maybe tomorrow morning. We went to  a place that we know and love called Harry's. They have a wonderful breakfast and we go there every time we are in Myrtle Beach. After breakfast we went to a shoe store so Dan could get a pair of tennis shoes. He got a real good deal on a pair. We decided we would like to go to down town historic Charleston, SC. for the day to do something different.

On our way to Charleston there were these tree's with this weird moss hanging from them. It looks to be killing the tree's. I have no idea what it is but I am going to look in to it further. It seems to be just certain tree's.

This is just a pic of a fountain in Georgetown, SC. on our way to Charleston.

On our way to Charleston there was people on the sides of the roads in these little stands making sweet grass baskets, wreaths, coasters and Jewelry. Very nice and alot of work goes into them. Maybe we can stop on the way back and I can get some prices and maybe even get one.

This was a little BBQ joint in Georgetown. We didn't go but I liked the sign.

This as a neat looking bridge that we went across to get to Charleston, SC.

This was the temp at 11:54 AM. Its such a beautiful day.

A beautiful church in Downtown Historical Charleston, SC.

This is a street guy playing his violin for money. You can see his jar with money on the ground inside his violin case. He got a little upset when I took his picture and started mumbling something. We were stopped at the time. I was thinking oh crap hurry up and  go honey before he decides to get up and come up to the car. I won't do that again.
We couldn't find a place to park and neither one of us wanted to go do the tourist thing. Like shopping and what not so we just started to head back to Myrtle Beach. Traffic was stop and go, maybe 5 miles at a time. We were at a stop light and it turned green and Dan just happened to spot a $50.00 bill laying in the street. He put the car in gear and got out and grabbed it. That made the trip worth while. It payed for his new tennis shoes and our lunch. That was really cool.

This is a naval ship that had helicopters on the top. I thought it was pretty neat. This is not a great picture but I thought I would add it anyway.

On our way back we stopped at one of the stands on the side of the road to check out the sweet grass baskets. Everything was beautiful and very expensive. I did not buy anything but it was nice to look. We stopped in Georgetown on our way back and ate at Hardee's. I know I will never get the taco's there again. They are skimpier than Taco Bell. The hand bread chicken strips where excellent though. We got back to Myrtle Beach around 4:30 PM and came up to the room and changed into shorts and sandals so we could go for a walk on the beach. There were quit a few people on the beach laying out and in the water. Burr the water temp is only 60 degrees right now.

This is not a great pic but it is a army plane.

This is a Jellyfish that washed up to shore not to long before I took the pic.

We walked about a mile and a half down the beach and then turned and come back. We came up to the room and took our showers and had a bite to eat. We just kicked back and relaxed and watched some tv. We have been on the go so it felt good to just relax. Dan went to bed around 9:00 PM and I sat and worked on my blog and watched tv. The weather is suppose to be in the mid to upper 70's all the rest of the week and upper 70's to lower 80's for next week with very little rain. What a wonderful vacation we are having so far. End of Day 3. Day 4 to follow.
